King William T.E.A. Party’s “Meet the Candidates” series runs from August through October, featuring presentations with Q & A time and lively debates between incumbents and challengers for KW Board of Supervisors, Commonwealth’s Attorney, Commissioner of Revenue, and others. Resolve to be an informed voter and also stay on top of the latest local, state and national issues.
* August 11th — Meet Michelle Hunt, Candidate-Commissioner of Revenue and Donald Longest, Candidate-Board of Supervisors District 5
* Aug. 25th — We’ve invited Board of Supervisors District 2 challenger Frank Adams. Also KW Commonwealth’s Attorney incumbent Stephen Palmer.
Our meetings are open to all citizens of good will and begin promptly at 7 PM at the King William County Administration Building (off Route 30 at Horse Landing Rd., behind the old courthouse).
Money is Ammunition in the War of Ideas
KWTP’s public meetings are free and open to “all citizens of good will.” No dues are required but we do pass around the “ammo box” for donations. The funds collected are used to support our good work with road signs, printing of information handouts and other promotional literature, carefully selected paid ads in local newspapers, booth fees at public events, and other modest expenditures. All of our officers and other workers are unpaid volunteers so your hard-earned donations get maximum value in spreading the T.E.A. Party message. We encourage you to contribute and to closely watch what happens as the box goes around the room. Good time for troll spotting.
The Citizens for King William County
This local group is sponsoring a Candidates Open House on Saturday, August 13th from 9 to 11 am at the King William Fire and Rescue Department (7936 Richmond-Tappahannock Hwy, Aylett). They are inviting all incumbents and challengers for local offices to this very informal meeting with their fellow citizens. Each candidate will have a chance to introduce themselves very briefly (2 minutes). Most of the time, however, will be spent with the candidates talking one on one or with small groups. The idea is to keep it very informal. Candidates will also be able to gather signatures if they need them. This will also be an opportunity to register to vote or to change their voting address if they need to. Refreshments will be provided.
Extra Credit Education Program
Sharpen your T.E.A. Party savvy by attending and watching the provocative video programs “Make Mine Freedom and “The Story of Stuff,” our Education Committee’s latest series of free sessions, open to all. Thursday, Aug. 18th at 7 PM M King William T.E.A. Party Program: PamunkeyRegionalLibrary694–JSharonRoad,Aylett,VAPark around back and look for a sign on the door. “Make Mine Freedom” demonstrates how easy it can be to forget the real meaning of freedom and to have it slowly replaced by other forms of government. This movie gives the warning signs and leads us to real freedom. “The Story of Stuff” is a controversial movie questioning the real value and purpose of capitalism. This movie has been viewed by many young people across the nation. Is this propaganda or patriotism? You be the judge! The series will continue with new subjects on the 3rd Thursday of each month.

The E-Informer is a monthly newsletter sent out via email. It typically includes information such as Board of Supervisors agendas, taxes and budgets, emergency services, employment opportunities, library activities and holiday office schedules, among other pertinent information. This service is free and is provided by the King William County Public Information Department.
